Benlik saygısı ve liderlik eğilimleri: Y kuşağı saha araştırması

Abstract

Liderlik, 21.yy'da olduğu kadar yakın geçmişte de gündemden düşmeyen bir konu olmuştur. Teknolojinin gelişim hızının çağın gerekliliklerini değişir kılması doğrultusunda, yönetim ve yöneticilik kavramları bambaşka bir boyut kazanmıştır. Grupların, bu değişken dünyada var olabilmesi ve uyum süreçlerini kolaylaştırabilmesi; inovasyon bilinçlerini etkin değerlendirebilmeleri ile doğrudan ilişkilidir. Böylelikle, gerçek anlamda vizyoner ve etik vizyonist liderler gün yüzüne çıkarak, söz konusu değişimle var oluş süreçlerini uzatırlar. Y kuşağının en belirgin özelliği olan, monoton düzene ters yönde ivme kazandırma ve iyiye değil daha iyiye ulaşma arzusu, izleyicilerinde reformer bir etki uyandırır. Bu liderler, geleneksel yapıdan kopmadan, üzerine çağın gereklilikleri ve değişim erkenlerini de katarak, yeni bir kültür yapısı ortaya koyarlar. Bu çalışma, Y Kuşağı lider adaylarının benlik saygısı düzeylerinin liderlik yönelimlerine , genel iş ilişkilerine, mevcut yönetim yapılarından değişime yansıyan süreçlerine kadar profesyonel sahada sergiledikleri tutumlara olan etkisini ortaya koymaktadır.Leadership is a notion that has always been on the spot. It has been a center of attention since the last decades and also in the century we are in. In accordance with the fact that technology, with its developmental pace, alters the needs of the era, the sense of management and administration have both evolved to a great extent. Groups' ability to survive in such a world and ease their own adaptation processes accordingly is directly linked to their being able to facilitate their innovative awareness in an efficient fashion. To that end, visionary leaders and ethical transformational leaders emerge in real means enhancing their existence through change. Willing to attain the best-not a better one- and resisting the monotonous realm as well as moving against it is the most distinctive feature of transformational leaders and this makes a reformist's impression on the relevant followers. These leaders, without becoming detached from the conventional structure and adding what the very era calls for in line with the related changes onto this structure, set forth a novel structure of culture. Thusly they open up a new door to the advanced contexture attaching an utterly shifted dimension to the figure pertaining to a leader and a follower. Leadership basically constructed upon self-esteem predicates on transformational habits in this context. Hence the former and the latter types of leadership act interdependently at a micro level whereas complementing each other at a relatively macro level in an autonomous way. The scope of this study encompasses these self-esteem and leadership concentrating upon their 'history d'étre' since the 20th century and the current relationship between them besides covering all the content belonging to their general framework and their course of development. This study analyzes reveals the impact of the Generation Y leadership leaders' self-esteem levels on their leadership attitudes, general business relationships, and their attitudes in the professional field, from their current management structures to processes reflected in change.
