Abstract

Periodontal durumun tükürük anti-inflamatuar proteini Gas6 üzerindeki etkisinin incelenmesi Bu çalışmanın amacı anti-inflamatuar bir protein olan ve obezite, diyabet ve aterosklerozis, gibi kronik hastalıkların patogenezinde rol oynadığı bilinen Gas6 proteininin periodontal hastalığa sahip bireylerin tükürüğünde tespit edilmesi ve klinik durum ile ilişkisinin incelenmesidir. Üniversite kliniğine başvuran ve çalışmaya katılmayı kabul eden 40 hasta değerlendirilmiştir. Bu çalışmaya dahil edilen tüm hastalardan sosyodemografik veriler bir anket yardımıyla toplanmıştır. Aynı gün içeresinde hastadan 5-10 mL miktarda uyarılmamış tükürük toplanılmıştır. Hastalardan plak indeksi, gingival indeksi, cep derinliği, sondalamada kanama indeksi ölçümleri yapılmıştır. Bu ölçümlerin sonucunda hastalar periodontal açısından kronik periodontitis ve sağlıklı olarak iki gruba ayrılmıştır. Hastadan steril ortamda toplanmış olan tükürük örnekleri Gas6 anti-inflamatuar proteini açısından ELISA testi yardımıyla incelenmiştir. Sonuçlar IBM SPSS Statistics 22 programı kullanarak karşılaştırılmıştır. Çalışmamızın sonucunda Gas6 proteini açısından gruplar arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark bulunamamıştır. Ancak Gas6 proteininin periodontal hastalığa sahip bireylerin tükürüğünde tespit edilebilmiş olması umut vericidir. Periodontal hastalık patogenezinde Gas6'in rolünün daha iyi anlaşılabilmesi için ileriye dönük yeni çalışmalara ihtiyaç vardır.The aim of this study is to determine the level of anti-inflammatory protein Gas6 which has effects on the pathogenesis of chronic diseases such as obesity, atherosclerosis in periodontitis patients saliva and evaluate the relationship between the saliva Gas6 levels and clinical periodontal status. The number of the patients applying in the universtity clinic and after detailed examination accepted to be participant of this study was 40. A sosyodemographic survey was applied to all the patients included in this study. 5-10 mL saliva was collected in the same day with the survey from each patient. Plaque index, gingival index, pocket depth and bleeding on probing was measured for periodontal examination. According to the measurements the patients were divided into chronic periodontitis and healthy groups. The saliva that was collected in a steril way from the patients was examined with ELISA test with the purpose of finding anti-inflammatory protein Gas6. The results were compared using IBM SPSS Statistic 22 computer program. There was no significant difference between two groups in terms of Gas6 protein. However Gas6 proteins that have been identified in the saliva of periodontitis patients is promising. There is a need for new studies to better understand the role of Gas6 in the pathogenesis of periodontal disease.
